Day 3 – Part Two: Joining In The Round & Continuing After Front Stitches Have Been Added

As you’re knitting your neckline eventually you will come to the point where you’ll need to join for working in the round or simply stop increasing the front stitches. You may not reach this point today but I’d like you to be aware of what to do next just in case.

Joining In The Round

You will join for working in the round after you have increased to your desired number of right front and left front stitches (these are marked by your B markers).

Here is a video that shows you how it is done:

Continuing After Front Stitches Are Added

[row] crew neck pullover

CREW NECK PULLOVER: After you have increased to your desired number of right front and left front stitches, cast on all of your center front stitches at once to complete the circle and join in the round. Remove the B markers and continue increasing at the A markers on every other row until you have reached your desired raglan length.

NOTE: If you are casting on your center front stitches for a pullover do so on a right side row.

SHAWL COLLAR PULLOVER: After you have increased to your desired number of right front and left front stitches, do not join in the round. Continue working back and forth, increasing only before and after each A marker on all right side rows until you have reached the desired depth of your shawl collar. At that point, cast on all of your center front stitches and join for working in the round. Continue increasing at the A markers every other row until your have reached your desired raglan length.
